ROUTE 301 BRIDGE OVER NOTTOWAY RIVER COMPLETED EARLY
New bridge opens today, ahead of original December completion date
A project to demolish and replace the Route 301 bridge over the Nottoway River opened to traffic today, nearly two months ahead of schedule.
Construction began in September 2016 under a $2.7 million contract with English Construction. The project was originally scheduled for completion on Dec. 21, 2017.
The new bridge is 265 feet long and 32 feet wide. The work included rebuilding the approach road.
