VDOT CONTINUES TO URGE MOTORISTS TO OBEY ROUTE 301 BRIDGE TRAFFIC AND DETOUR SIGNS
Southbound traffic must use I-95 as detour

GREENSVILLE COUNTY – Safety is always the biggest priority for the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The Hampton Roads District reminds motorists to obey all traffic and detour signs posted around the Route 301 Southbound Bridge Replacement Project in Greensville County. Motorists headed south on Route 301 should not use the Route 301 Northbound Bridge for thru travel.

Motorists traveling southbound must use I-95 as the detour around the bridge closure. For the safety of drivers and the safety of our crews, please obey all detour signs.

The Route 301 Bridge Replacement Project over CSX Railway is currently on schedule for completion in summer 2017. The old bridge has been demolished, and crews are currently working on building the new bridge approaches. For more information, please visit VDOT’s project website: http://www.virginiadot.org/projects/hamptonroads/rte_301_bridge.asp
