PROJECT TO WIDEN ROUTE 199 RAMP AT RICHMOND ROAD NOW COMPLETE
Project completed on-budget and ahead of schedule

JAMES CITY COUNTY — On Tuesday, May 24, crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) completed a project to widen the Route 199 westbound off-ramp onto Richmond Road (U.S. Route 60) in James City County.

To mitigate congestion on the Route 199 westbound off-ramp onto Richmond Road, crews increased the pavement width to the west toward the existing on-ramp and constructed exclusive left and right turn lanes.

J.S.G. Corporation based out of Williamsburg, Virginia was awarded the construction contract in the amount of $415,144. The project began in February 2016 and was completed on-budget and ahead of the scheduled completion date of July 25, 2016.
