TRAFFIC SHIFT SCHEDULED FOR HOLLAND ROAD CONNECTION PROJECT
Scheduled to start next week

VIRGINIA BEACH – Motorists should expect a traffic shift along Holland Road in both the northbound and southbound directions between Dam Neck Road, Laurel Oak Lane and Monet Drive beginning Thursday, December 17 at 9:00 a.m., and continuing until late 2016. Both lanes will shift onto the new temporary pavement.

As construction moves along the corridor from Dam Neck Road to Nimmo Parkway, traffic shifts will occur as sections of temporary and new pavement are completed. Lane closures, when necessary, will only occur during off-peak hours, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Crews will work Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., weather conditions permitting.

The Holland Road Connection Project has been underway since the spring of 2015 and is scheduled for completion in October 2017. The project spans 2.5 miles and will increase road capacity from the existing two-lane road to a new four-lane divided roadway connecting Dam Neck Road to Nimmo Parkway.

Access to adjacent neighborhoods and businesses will remain throughout the life of the project. To learn more, please visit http://www.virginiadot.org/hollandroad.

Motorists are encouraged to visit www.va511.org, call 511, listen to Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) 1680 AM or call the Traffic Information Line at 757-361-3016 for current traffic and travel information.
