ROUTE 602 BRIDGE OVER PAGAN CREEK NOW OPEN
Construction of new bridge on Longview Drive finishes on time and on budget

ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY, Va. - After 6 months of construction, the new Route 602 Bridge over Pagan Creek in Isle of Wight County opened to traffic today, October 30, 2015.

Construction on the Route 602 Bridge began on May 4, 2015. The new 40-foot long and 28-foot wide bridge was built using 18-inch pre-stressed concrete slabs, replacing the former bridge deck that was made of wood.

Crews improved drainage and shored up ditches surrounding the bridge over Pagan Creek. The project also included improvements to the approach roadway and installation of new railings, making the thoroughfare safer for drivers.

The contractor on the project was Quality Enterprises USA, Inc. 100 percent of the funding for the bridge came from the federal government, and the $607,000 project came in on time and on budget.
