Lakeside Drive (Route 620) Intersection Improvement Project Ready to Begin
Construction Scheduled to Start in July

YORK COUNTY – A project to improve traffic flow on Lakeside Drive (Route 620) is scheduled to start construction in July.

Branscome, Inc. was awarded the $7 million contract to add left and right turn lanes and install curbing along the entire length of the one-mile project. Work will begin near the intersection of Lakeside Drive (Route 620) and George Washington Highway (Route 17) and end just east of the intersection of Lakeside Drive and Old Lakeside Drive.

During construction, Lakeside Drive may be closed to through traffic on Saturdays and Sundays, from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Traffic will be detoured to alternate routes as necessary to mitigate traffic congestion. Weekday traffic may be reduced to a single lane with flagging operations. Motorists should anticipate minor delays.

The project is scheduled for completion in early summer 2015.
