VDOT HOSTING TWO PUBLIC HEARINGS REGARDING PATRIOT’S CROSSING PROPOSED LOCATIONS
Media invited to see proposed location and environmental reassessment
SUFFOLK─ In an effort to improve mobility in the Hampton Roads Region, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is studying Patriot’s Crossing. Patriot’s Crossing is made up of two segments of the approved Hampton Roads Third Crossing. VDOT is reevaluating the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Hampton Roads Crossing Study. In 2001, this study resulted in the selection of the Third Crossing. The reevaluation focuses on the time that has passed since the EIS was approved and the slight shift in alignment of one segment of the Third Crossing. Before moving forward, VDOT is seeking public input. At the meeting, citizen can find out more about the environmental reevaluation and the proposed location for Patriot’s Crossing in the cities of Portsmouth and Norfolk.
