DRIVERS SHOULD PREPARE FOR OVERNIGHT DELAYS ON ROUTE 17 BUSINESS AND ROUTE 33 THROUGH SALUDA BEGINNING SUNDAY, JUNE 16
Expect intermittent single lane closures in the work zone Sunday – Thursday, 6 p.m. – 5:30 a.m., through Friday, June 28

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Beginning Sunday, June 16 drivers can should expect overnight delays in both directions on Route 17 Business and Route 33 in Saluda for milling and paving work. 

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will be milling and paving a 1.58 mile section of northbound and southbound Route 17 Business between the entrance to Hardees and the entrance to Food Lion, and a 0.41 mile section of Route 33 east toward Cook’s Corner.

Drivers can expect intermittent single lane closures in the work zone from 6 p.m. – 5:30 a.m., Sunday – Thursday.  All lanes will be open to traffic by 5:30 a.m. each day through Friday morning.

Flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone.

The resurfacing project is expected to be complete by Friday, June 28, weather permitting.

According to recent VDOT traffic data an average of 9700 vehicles travel daily in the vicinity of Route 17 Business and the signalized intersection with Route 33 in Saluda.
