COURTHOUSE ROAD PARK & RIDE LOT ACCESS CHANGES ON THURSDAY, OCT. 17 IN STAFFORD
Commuters will use the Wyche Road intersection to access a new side entrance to the Park & Ride lot; Temporary traffic signal will be shifted to Wyche Road and Courthouse Road
Wednesday, Oct. 16 UPDATE: The opening of a new access road into the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Park & Ride commuter lot on Courthouse Road in Stafford County has been postponed to Thursday, Oct. 17 due to inclement weather. The temporary traffic signal at Courthouse Road and Wyche Road will now be activated after the morning rush hour on Thursday, Oct. 17.
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Access to the Route 630 (Courthouse Road) Park & Ride commuter lot in Stafford County will change on Wednesday, Oct. 16, as a new side entrance to the lot opens from Wyche Road.
Following the morning rush hour travel period on Oct. 16, crews will open Florida Rock Drive along Wyche Road.
Florida Rock Drive will serve as the only entrance and exit to the Park & Ride lot until construction is complete in July 2020. Construction is underway to build a larger lot with additional parking and new amenities as part of the Interstate 95 Exit 140 interchange reconstruction project.

As the new lot entrance opens at Florida Rock Drive, the temporary traffic signal at the existing lot entrance on Courthouse Road will be turned off. A temporary traffic signal will be placed in full color operation at the Courthouse Road and Wyche Road intersection.
Message boards will be posted this week to alert Park & Ride lot users about the upcoming access change.
When construction is finished, there will be approximately 1,100 commuter parking spaces available at the Exit 140 interchange in two Park & Ride lots. The larger of the two Park & Ride lots will include a dedicated bus, carpool and vanpool pickup and dropoff area to assist with High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) ridesharing. The finished lots will have multiple entrances, sidewalks, shelters, bicycle racks, and permanent lighting structures.
Park & Ride lots are intended to promote ridesharing and reduce congestion. To find a Park & Ride lot, please visit the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) interactive ridesharing map, which provides information on more than 300 Park & Ride lots across the state.
