FREDERICKSBURG – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) invites the public to attend a “Pardon Our Dust” meeting on Thursday, June 8, to learn more about upcoming construction to improve the Interstate 95 interchange at Route 3 in Fredericksburg.

The meeting will be held:

Thursday, June 8

5-7 p.m.

Fredericksburg Hospitality House & Conference Center

Madison and Monroe Rooms

(Central Park)

2801 Plank Road

Fredericksburg, VA 22401

A brief presentation on the project will be delivered at 5:15 p.m. and again at 6:15 p.m.

Stop by anytime between 5-7 p.m. to view maps of the project improvements and discuss questions with VDOT and contractor staff.

In February 2017, the Commonwealth Transportation Board awarded an $18.2 million design-build contract for the project to Branch Civil, Inc., of Manassas.

The project will modify on- and off-ramps at the Route 3 interchange. The changes are intended to reduce vehicle merging and weaving that can lead to crashes, injuries and congestion for local traffic, and on the interstate.

Construction will begin in summer 2017 and will be completed in January 2019.
