Expect overnight lane closures on Carl D. Silver Parkway beginning Sunday, Nov. 5 through Friday, Nov. 10

FREDERICKSBURG –  The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) project to improve safety and operations at the Interstate 95 and Route 3 interchange continues with overnight lane closures to remove a concrete island at the Central Park main entrance in Fredericksburg.

The Central Park main entrance on Route 3 to Carl D. Silver Parkway will be closed overnight beginning Sunday, Nov. 5 through Friday, Nov. 10 from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.  Traffic will not be permitted to enter the Central Park shopping area to allow crews to work safely at the intersection.

Drivers will be guided by detour signs to use Central Park Boulevard to enter Central Park during the work zone. Access to all businesses, hotels and destinations in Central Park will be maintained during the road work.

All I-95 entrance and exit ramps at Exit 130/Route 3 will remain open during the removal of the concrete island.

Message boards and extra signage will be posted to warn motorists about the closure and detour.
