Route 631 traffic will be detoured approximately five miles during construction
FREDERICKSBURG – On Monday, May 16, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT ) will begin work to replace the existing Route 631 (Fleets Mill Road) bridge over Fleets Creek in King and Queen County.
The bridge is located just over one mile east of Route 360 and just west of Route 672 in the
St. Stephens area of King and Queen County.
During construction motorists will be detoured approximately five miles around the work zone.
Motorists traveling on Route 631 (Fleets Mill Road) will use Route 14 (The Trail) to Route 360 (Richmond-Tappahannock Highway) back to Route 631 (Fleets Mill Road).
The existing 15-foot structure was built in 1971. The new structure will be 31 feet 5 inches in length with no posted weight limit.
The project is expected to be complete in approximately six to eight weeks.
