UPDATE: NORRIS BRIDGE WORK CANCELLED TONIGHT
Overnight repairs to the bridge will resume Monday, June 13 and Tuesday, June 14

FREDERICKSBURG – Planned bridge work on the Robert O. Norris Bridge over the Rappahannock River has been cancelled for tonight.

Overnight repairs to the bridge’s travel surface are now scheduled for Monday, June 13 and Tuesday, June 14. Route 3 traffic will be reduced to one lane on the bridge from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on these evenings.

Crews will continue to remove temporary asphalt patches on the bridge’s travel surface and replace them with concrete.

Motorists will be guided through the work zone by a flagging crew and pilot vehicle. The contractor has been directed to allow motorists to be delayed no more than approximately 20 minutes during the work zone.

The Norris Bridge crosses the Rappahannock River between Lancaster and Middlesex counties.

Message boards are posted on routes leading to the bridge in Middlesex and Lancaster counties to notify motorists of the overnight lane closures.
