FALMOUTH BRIDGE LANE CLOSURES OVERNIGHT THIS WEEK
Route 1 will be reduced to one lane northbound, southbound for bridge deck repairs over the Rappahannock River between the City of Fredericksburg and Stafford County
FREDERICKSBURG – Route 1 motorists may encounter brief travel delays overnight this week between the City of Fredericksburg and Stafford County as crews repair the Falmouth Bridge deck over the Rappahanock River.
Route 1 will be reduced to one northbound and one southbound lane overnight, with all northbound lanes open by 6 a.m. All southbound lanes will re-open by 7 a.m.
Lane closures are scheduled for the Falmouth Bridge at the following dates and times:
Monday, Dec. 5
- 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. (northbound) and 7 a.m. (southbound)
Tuesday, Dec. 6 − Thursday, Dec. 8
- 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. (northbound) and 7 a.m. (southbound)
Crews are replacing temporary asphalt patches on the bridge deck with concrete to provide a smoother travel surface and more durable repair, and reduce the risk of potholes.
