DOWNING BRIDGE INSPECTION MAY CAUSE DELAYS NEXT WEEK
A single lane of traffic will cross the bridge in the work zone

FREDERICKSBURG– The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will conduct a routine inspection of the Downing Bridge next week.

Beginning Monday, July 25, a single lane closure will be in place on the bridge from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day through Wednesday, July 27.

Flaggers will direct motorists across the bridge one lane at a time.

Motorists should expect delays at the bridge.

The Downing Bridge is located on Route 360 and crosses the Rappahannock River.  The bridge connects Essex County and Richmond County.
