DETOUR BEGINS MONDAY ON RAVEN ROAD IN STAFFORD
Traffic will be detoured for estimated four weeks while new bridge is installed over Accokeek Creek

FREDERICKSBURG – Route 609 (Raven Road) in Stafford County will close to through traffic at 9 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 26, for a bridge replacement project over Accokeek Creek.

Traffic will be detoured around the bridge project for an estimated four weeks, weather permitting. Raven Road will be closed near the eastern intersection with Route 608 (Brooke Road).

Motorists should follow posted detour signs along Raven Road and Brooke Road.

Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews will install a new bridge over Accokeek Creek to replace the current structure, which is structurally deficient.

Approximately 230 vehicles cross the bridge a day, according to a VDOT traffic count.
