CSX TO REPAIR RAIL CROSSING ON RT. 626 (WOODFORD ROAD) IN CAROLINE COUNTY
Woodford Road will be closed to through traffic Oct. 24-28 while repairs are underway

FREDERICKSBURG – CSX will close Route 626 (Woodford Road) in Caroline County to through traffic Oct. 24-28 while CSX crews perform maintenance work to upgrade the railroad crossing.

Woodford Road will close at the railroad crossing beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 24, and will remain closed until 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28.

Signs will be posted to guide motorists along the recommended detour route:

  • Route 2 (Richmond Turnpike)
  • Route 609 (Woodslane Road)

Message boards will be posted to alert motorists to the upcoming railroad work and detour.

Woodford Road carries an average of 400 vehicles a day, according to a 2015 Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) traffic count.
