CONSTRUCTION TO BEGIN AT ROUTE 205 AND ROUTE 631 INTERSECTION
Project will realign Westmoreland County intersection and add a right turn lane

FREDERICKSBURG— A contractor for the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has begun placing signs and mobilizing equipment in the vicinity of Route 205 and Route 631 (Longfield Road) in Westmoreland County to begin a project that will improve the existing intersection.

The project will realign and widen the intersection and construct a right turn lane on Route 205 for vehicles turning onto Route 631 (Longfield Road).

Most construction work will occur outside of existing travel lanes. However, lane closures and brief delays will occur during the pipe replacement phase of the project which will be scheduled in February or March. Specific dates, times, and locations for lane closures will be announced as soon as they are scheduled.

The $2.2 million project is expected to be complete by July 1, 2016.
