ALL LANES OPEN ON ROUTE 198 (DUTTON ROAD) BRIDGE
New bridge deck, guardrail was installed over Harper’s Creek in Gloucester County

FREDERICKSBURG – Construction was substantially completed Wednesday to improve the condition of a bridge on Route 198 (Dutton Road) over Harper’s Creek in Gloucester County.

Both travel lanes are now open on the bridge. Temporary traffic signals have been removed.

The $1.6 million project rehabilitated a structurally deficient bridge over Harper’s Creek by replacing the bridge’s superstructure. The project included installation of a new bridge deck, guardrail and improvements to bridge approaches.

The project contractor was Bryant Contracting, Inc., of Toano, Va.

Construction began in August 2015. Final pavement markings will be painted next week.
