ROUTE 660 TO CLOSE NEXT WEEK FOR BRIDGE REPAIRS
Detour signs will be posted to guide motorists during 5-day closure in King and Queen County

5/21/15 UPDATE: Route 660 (Sorghum Road) in King & Queen County will remain closed to traffic through Wednesday, May 27 at the site of a bridge deck repair project.

 

FREDERICKSBURG – Route 660 (Sorghum Road) in King and Queen County will be closed to through traffic May 18-May 22 for bridge repairs.

 

The road will be closed at the bridge, located approximately 1.5 miles west of Route 619 (Owens Mill Road) and 0.6 miles east of Route 721 (Newtown Road).

 

A Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) bridge crew will replace the bridge deck and repair a bridge railing.

 

Weather permitting, the bridge is expected to re-open to traffic by Friday evening.

 

Approximately 160 vehicles cross the bridge each day.

 

Signs will be posted to guide motorists along the recommended detour route:

  • Route 721 (Newtown Road)
  • Route 640 (Lyneville Road)
  • Route 623 (Indian Neck Road)
  • Route 619 (Owens Mill Road)
