Outreach event for Fredericksburg area small businesses to be held on Thursday, May 21

FREDERICKSBURG — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will host a workshop on Thursday, May 21 to provide information on how small businesses can properly register and compete for business opportunities with the state agency.

VDOT representatives will be present to provide information and answer questions, assisted by representatives from eVa, Virginia’s Electronic Procurement System, and the Department of Small Business Supplier Diversity.

The workshop will be held:

Thursday, May 21, 2015

2-6 p.m.

VDOT Fredericksburg Residency

Conference Room

86 Deacon Road

Fredericksburg, VA 22405

If you plan to attend, please RSVP to VDOT Regional Procurement Manager Toya Peterson at Toya.Peterson@vdot.virginia.gov or VDOT Senior Contract Officer Jacqueline Brunson at Jacqueline.Brunson@vdot.virginia.gov.

The Commonwealth of Virginia is committed to making at least 42 percent of its discretionary purchases with small, women-owned and minority-owned (SWaM) businesses. Over the past several years, these vendors have benefited from more than $5 billion in annual purchases.

This event is designed to show the benefits of becoming a certified Small or Micro Business in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Attendees can learn how to market their products and services to state agencies, and get assistance with required registration and certification procedures.
