LANE CLOSURES ON GWYNN'S ISLAND BRIDGE FRIDAY NIGHT
Motorists should expect brief delays during repair work

FREDERICKSBURG – Route 223 (Cricket Hill Road) traffic will be reduced to one lane Friday evening on the bridge over Milford Haven in Mathews County.

One travel lane will close from 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28 until 5 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29.

Intermittent, brief traffic stops may be required between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Saturday. A flagging crew will direct motorists through the work zone.

Bridge repairs will be underway. Crews will replace a damaged rod in the bridge’s movable swing span.

Marine traffic will be allowed to pass underneath the bridge during the work zone.

The Route 223 bridge links mainland Mathews County and Gwynn’s Island.
