EXPECT MAJOR DELAYS ON INTERSTATE 95 SOUTH IN STAFFORD
Lane closures at the crash site will extend into evening rush hour

FREDERICKSBURG –   All lanes on I-95 south in Stafford County are closed due to an overturned crane at mile marker 145 located just north of Exit 143 (Route 610/Garrisonville). Traffic is getting by the crash site using the left shoulder.

The crash has resulted in a diesel spill and significant damage to the pavement.  Once the crane is upright, two lanes will remain closed until emergency repairs can be made to the pavement.

DBI, VDOT’s interstate maintenance contractor, is mobilizing to begin patching the large ruts in the pavement caused by the crash. A hazmat team is onsite to evaluate the extent of the diesel spill.

Motorists should expect major delays on I-95 south through the evening rush hour. Traffic delays begin at mile marker 152 in Prince William County.
