ROUTE 1 LANE CLOSURES FOR BRIDGE WORK AT AQUIA CREEK
Single lane will be closed in each direction from 5-10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8

FREDERICKSBURG – Motorists may experience minor delays on Route 1 in Stafford County on Saturday morning at the Aquia Creek bridge replacement project due to construction work.

From 5-10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, Route 1 will be reduced to a single travel lane in each direction. Lane closures are needed to pour concrete for a new bridge deck.

Motorists can call 511, visit www.511Virginia.org or use VDOT’s 511Virginia free mobile app to find real-time traffic and work zone information in any area of the state.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and its contractor, Corman Construction, are replacing an 89-year-old bridge over Aquia Creek to improve the infrastructure on this primary road.

The $5.5 million bridge project began in December 2012, and will conclude by August 2015.
