REMINDER: PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED RAIL, HIGHWAY, TRANSIT PROJECTS IN DRAFT SIX-YEAR IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
Public hearing to be held in VDOT’s Fredericksburg District on Monday, May 12 at Essex High School in Tappahannock

FREDERICKSBURG – The public is invited to comment on the draft Six-Year Improvement Program (SYIP) for Fiscal Years 2015-2020 at a public hearing at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014, at Essex High School in Tappahannock.

Transportation Secretary Aubrey Layne will be joined by Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) officials to share highlights of the proposed six-year program, and to listen to public comments.

 

The Commonwealth Transportation Board will take public comments into consideration prior to adopting the final six-year program on June 18, 2014.

 

The program allocates funding to essential highway, bridge, rail, transit, transportation demand management, bicycle and pedestrian projects across the state over the next six fiscal years beginning July 1, 2014.  The program is updated each year to reflect latest revenue projections and other priorities.
