PAVING WORK ON BUTLER ROAD ON SUNDAY NIGHT, MONDAY
Motorists should expect travel delays at Falmouth intersection on Sunday night, Monday midday

FREDERICKSBURG – Motorists may encounter travel delays on Sunday night and midday Monday at the intersection of Route 1, Route 17 Business, and Route 218 (Butler Road) in Stafford County while paving work is underway on Butler Road.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane on Butler Road between Route 1 and Winterberry Drive  during the following dates and hours:

Sunday, December 14

9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Monday, December 15

10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Motorists should follow the direction of the flagging crew and law enforcement officials at the intersection, and in the work zone.

Butler Road is being re-paved by Stafford County to provide a smoother travel surface for motorists following recent utility work at the intersection.

Construction is underway at the intersection of Route 1, Route 17 Business and Route 218 for the Falmouth intersection improvement project. New turn lanes and through lanes are under construction to advance more traffic through the intersection on each signal cycle, reducing motorist delay. The project is scheduled to be completed in September 2015.

Real-time listings of work zones, traffic incidents, and travel times in Virginia are available on VDOT’s 24-hour traffic information website, www.511Virginia.org.
