“PARDON OUR DUST” MEETING TO BE HELD ON ROUTE 17 RECONSTRUCTION
Public is invited to stop by and learn more about upcoming bridge and road work

FREDERICKSBURG—The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) invites the public to attend a “Pardon Our Dust” meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, to learn more about upcoming construction work to reconstruct Route 17 near June Parker Marina in Tappahannock.

The project will reduce the occurrence of flooding on Route 17, a hurricane evacuation route, from just north of Marsh Street to just south of Airport Road.

Stop by anytime between 5-7 p.m. to meet VDOT and project staff, review construction plans and maps, and ask questions.

Construction work will begin in January 2014 and conclude by May 2016.

The project is estimated to cost approximately $10 million. The project contractor is Bryant Contracting Inc., of Toano, Va.
