Motorists should expect delays April 14-15 on Route 360

FREDERICKSBURG - Beginning Monday, April 14, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will begin a routine inspection of the Downing Bridge.

Motorists can expect delays on the bridge beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 14, and Tuesday, April 15. All lanes are expected to re-open to traffic by 3 p.m. each day.

On Wednesday, April 16 through Friday, April 18, crews will continue to inspect the structure from the water, and there will be no lane closures or delays on the bridge.

The Downing Bridge is located on Route 360 and crosses the Rappahannock River. The bridge connects Richmond and Essex counties.
