DECK PATCHING TO TAKE PLACE ON THE DOWNING BRIDGE THIS WEEK
Motorists should expect overnight delays on Wednesday, July 16 and Thursday, July 17

FREDERICKSBURG - The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will begin patching the concrete deck on the Downing Bridge this week.  

Motorists can expect delays on the bridge beginning at 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 16 until 5 a.m., Thursday, July 17. The patching operation will resume at 8 p.m., Thursday, July 17 and continue until 5 a.m., Friday, July 18.

During the patching operation motorists will be restricted to one lane on the bridge.

The Downing Bridge is located on Route 360 and crosses the Rappahannock River. The bridge connects Richmond and Essex counties.
