CULVERT REPLACEMENT WORK EXTENDED
Detour on Loriella Park Drive to remain in place through February

FREDERICKSBURG – Construction work to replace drainage culverts beneath Route 1387 (Loriella Park Drive) and Route 1421 (Plantation Forest Drive) in Spotsylvania County will be extended, and changes have been made to the project schedule at both locations.

Loriella Park Drive

Loriella Park Drive will remain closed to through traffic between Leavells Road and Ascot Circle until late February, weather permitting.

Traffic will be detoured to Windsor Drive and Ascot Circle during construction. Signs will be posted to guide motorists through the detour.

The existing drainage pipe underneath Loriella Park Drive is being replaced with a concrete box culvert to promote better drainage. When the project is complete, new guardrail will be installed.

Plantation Forest Drive

Single-lane closures on Plantation Forest Drive have been extended to occur through mid-April 2015. A concrete box culvert is being installed underneath Plantation Forest Drive to promote better drainage.

Plantation Forest Drive will remain open at the culvert site, but residents can expect single-lane closures on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. On rare occasions, Saturday lane closures may be required between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

After the culvert is installed, new guardrail will be added along the side of the road.

Motorists can call 511, visit www.511virginia.org or use VDOT’s 511Virginia free mobile app to find real-time traffic and work zone information in any area of the state.
