VDOT WILL OPEN NEW HERRING CREEK BRIDGE ON THURSDAY, OCT. 31
Motorists should be alert to traffic pattern changes at the bridge

FREDERICKSBURG – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) plans to shift traffic to the new bridge over Herring Creek at approximately noon on Thursday, Oct. 31.

The bridge is located on Route 600 in King William County.

VDOT began construction of the new bridge, located adjacent to the old structurally deficient bridge in February 2013.

The new bridge features two 11-foot travel lanes and a 9-foot shoulder on each side.

Motorists will continue to use the new structure for the duration of the project.

The $2.5 million project is scheduled to be complete in mid-December.
