VDOT TO BEGIN PAVEMENT REHABILITATION PROJECT ON ROUTE 604 IN KING WILLIAM COUNTY
Motorists should expect delays during daytime hours through August 2013

FREDERICKSBURG – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will begin a pavement rehabilitation project on Route 604 in King William County on Monday, March 11.

The rehabilitation project includes milling out the existing pavement; recycling the asphalt and re-using the material as the foundation for the new asphalt.  This process will create a stable roadway base and create a smoother riding surface after the new asphalt is applied.  The process will also minimize the risk of pavement break up and improve durability.

Motorists will be restricted to one lane in the work zone located just south of Route 30 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday – Friday, for the duration of the project.  Work is expected to be complete by mid-August 2013.

The total cost of this pavement rehabilitation project is approximately $795,000.

Real time listings of work zones, delays and road conditions in Virginia are available on VDOT’s 24-hour traffic and travel information website www.511virginia.org.  Motorists can also access 511Virginia by calling 511 from any telephone in Virginia.
