ROUTE 625 TO CLOSE JUNE 17-19 IN KING WILLIAM
Bridge repair on Custis Millpond Road will require 3-day detour at crossing

FREDERICKSBURG – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has scheduled bridge maintenance repairs on Route 625 (Custis Millpond Road) for June 17-19, 2013, and the road will be closed to all vehicle traffic at the bridge while work is underway.

The bridge will close to traffic at 7 a.m. on Monday, June 17, and will re-open by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19.

The recommended detour route is Route 30 to Route 626 (East Rose Garden Road), which intersects with Route 625. The detour route is 6.2 miles.

Message boards, signs and barricades will be in place to alert travelers to the bridge closure, and the detour route.

VDOT’s state forces bridge crew is repairing a timber deck bridge on Route 625 near Custis Mill Pond. VDOT will replace the bridge’s deck boards and back wall.

Route 625 is 2.5 miles long, and the bridge work zone and road closure will be located 1.25 miles north of the road’s intersection with Route 30.

Motorists can call 511, visit www.511Virginia.org, or use VDOT’s 511Virginia free mobile app to find real-time traffic and work zone information in any area of the state.
