ROUTE 207 (ROGERS CLARK BOULEVARD) WESTBOUND DETOUR ENDS TODAY
Westbound traffic to be shifted to new westbound bridge; one lane to remain closed on eastbound bridge

FREDERICKSBURG – Shortly after noon today the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will begin to shift westbound traffic on Route 207 (Rogers Clark Boulevard) in Caroline County onto the new westbound bridge over the CSX railroad tracks.   The traffic shift is expected to be complete later today.

The westbound traffic was detoured onto the eastbound bridge last spring to allow crews to replace the westbound structure.

After the westbound  traffic has been shifted to the new bridge,  one lane will be remain closed on the eastbound structure as crews continue to remove the temporary detour on the Route 207 bridge.  The speed limit in the work zone will remain at 45 mph for the duration of the project.

The project is expected to be complete in May.
