ROUTE 205 TO OPEN AT TIDES MILL STREAM BRIDGE
Detour will be lifted on Friday, March 15 in Westmoreland County

FREDERICKSBURG – Route 205 (Ridge Road) in Westmoreland County will open to traffic today at the rehabilitated Tides Mill Stream bridge.

This morning, workers are painting lane markings on the road surface. The bridge is expected to open to traffic around midday.

The bridge has been closed to traffic since November 2, 2012. Traffic has been following a detour route on Route 631 (Longfield Road).

The bridge, which was built in 1933 and was structurally deficient, is a critical piece of infrastructure connecting the Town of Colonial Beach and Westmoreland. This project rehabilitated the bridge's superstructure, as well as made minor repairs to the concrete substructure of the bridge.
