PIEDMONT ROAD BRIDGE TO BE TEMPORIALY CLOSED NEXT WEEK FOR MAJOR REPAIRS
King and Queen County structure will be closed December 16 - 22

FREDERICKSBURG – Beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close the Route 610 (Piedmont Road) bridge in King and Queen County for complete superstructure replacement.

The work will include new steel beams, a new deck and new guardrails. The existing abutments will remain in place.

The bridge, which carries 60 vehicles per day, will be closed to traffic during the work.  

Detour signs are in place to direct motorists around the work site.

The work is expected to be complete by 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 22.
