DRILLING WORK ON LORIELLA PARK DRIVE, PLANTATION FOREST DRIVE

Traffic will be reduced to a single lane on secondary roads in Spotsylvania County

FREDERICKSBURG – Traffic will be reduced to a single lane on Route 1387 (Loriella Park Drive) and Route 1421 (Plantation Forest Drive) in Spotsylvania County this week so workers can gather soil samples for upcoming drainage pipe replacement projects.

Motorists will be directed by flagging crews between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24  and Friday, Jan. 25.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is preparing to replace drainage pipes beneath Loriella Park Drive and Plantation Forest Drive. The pipes are being replaced due to their age and deteriorating condition.

VDOT will use the soil samples to design the appropriate foundation for the new pipes.

Real-time listings of travel times, work zones, and traffic incidents in Virginia are available on VDOT’s 24-hour traffic information website, www.511Virginia.org. Motorists can also access 511Virginia by calling 511 from any telephone in Virginia.
