WINDSOR DRIVE NOW OPEN TO TRAFFIC IN SPOTSYLVANIA
Vehicles regain access following damage to roadway during Tropical Storm Lee

FREDERICKSBURG – Route 1385 (Windsor Drive) is open to vehicle traffic again in Spotsylvania between Abbey Lane and Cathedral Road.

Windsor Drive has been closed to vehicle traffic since September 9, 2011, after rainfall during Tropical Storm Lee washed away a culvert and a section of roadway.

A replacement box culvert was fabricated to fit the dimensions and specifications of the location, and has been installed. Paving work restored the roadway travel surface.

Temporary single-lane closures may be required on Windsor Drive as repair work is completed, but vehicle traffic will have 24-hour access to pass through the work zone.

Real-time listings of congestion, traffic incidents and road conditions in Virginia are available on VDOT’s 24-hour travel information website, www.511Virginia.org.  Motorists can also access 511Virginia by calling 511 from any telephone in Virginia.
