UTILITY WORK PLANNED FOR I-95 TONIGHT IN CAROLINE COUNTY
Motorists can expect two, 10-minute periods of slowed traffic in each direction

FREDERICKSBURG—All traffic will be slowed on northbound and southbound Interstate 95 in Caroline County tonight for two brief, 10-minute periods for utility work.

Traffic will be slowed twice on northbound and southbound I-95 near Exit 104 (Carmel Church) this evening. These 10-minute slowdowns are scheduled to occur between 7:30 p.m. and midnight.

Several utility providers must run utility lines across all northbound and southbound lanes of I-95 to restore service.

Earlier this morning, a contractor vehicle in a paving work zone on southbound I-95 struck power lines at mile marker 104. The utility providers are restoring infrastructure damaged during this incident.

Message boards will be activated along the I-95 corridor to alert motorists to the brief traffic impact, and the potential for delays.

Motorists can find real-time information about traffic incidents and congestion on VDOT’s 24-hour travel information website, www.511Virginia.org. 511Virginia is also available by calling 511 from any telephone in Virginia.
