PARTLOW ROAD BRIDGE PROJECT BEGINS IN SPOTSYLVANIA
Starting Monday, temporary traffic signals will control traffic over the Ta River bridge

FREDERICKSBURG—A bridge deck rehabilitation project has begun on Route 738 (Partlow Road) in Spotsylvania at the Ta River, and motorists should be alert for a new traffic pattern at the bridge beginning on Monday, April 23.

On Monday, temporary traffic signals will be installed on both ends of the bridge. The signals will remain until the project is completed in October 2012.

One lane of the bridge will be closed during construction. Eastbound and westbound traffic will be required to alternate crossing the bridge in a single travel lane.

The bridge is located 1.2 miles south of the intersection of Route 208 (Courthouse Road), Route 606 (Morris Road), and Partlow Road.

The project will replace the bridge joints, and repair the surface of the bridge superstructure and substructure. It will reconstruct the shoulders, and replace the guardrail.

A contract was awarded for $311,720 to McClain & Co., Inc.

The project completion date is October 11, 2012.
