MERRY POINT FERRY IS TAKEN OUT OF SERVICE
Ferry may be out of service through next week

FREDERICKSBURG— The Merry Point Ferry in Lancaster County was taken out of service earlier today due to a malfunctioning fuel pump.

Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) mechanics anticipate that the repairs may take longer than one week to complete.

The ferry, which is located on Route 604 (Merry Point Road) and crosses the Corrotoman River, will remain out of service until the repairs can be made.
