FREDERICKSBURG DISTRICT ROAD CONDTIONS RANGE FROM MOSTLY WET TO MODERATE
Clear to Minor Conditions reported on I-95; Minor to Moderate conditions on roads in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula Areas
FREDERICKSBURG— Snow fell throughout the night in the 14-county Fredericksburg District leaving several inches on the roads in portions of the Middle Peninsula, Northern Neck, southern Caroline County and western Spotsylvania County. VDOT crews worked overnight applying chemicals, abrasives and plowing in some areas.
Current conditions on Interstate 95 and primary routes throughout the Fredericksburg region are reported as mostly wet with the potential of slick spots on bridges, overpasses and ramps.
Road conditions in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula areas including primary routes in King William, King and Queen, King George and Westmoreland counties are reported in minor to moderate condition.
Temperatures are expected to reach well above freezing today; however, crews will work throughout the day monitoring road conditions.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution if traveling during the early morning hours and be alert to icy conditions that may exist on roads carrying lower volumes of traffic, as well as on bridges, ramps and overpasses.

Road conditions are rated as clear, minor, moderate or severe.
• Clear: No conditions.
• Minor: Bare pavement, except for isolated spots of snow, ice or slush.
• Moderate: Snow or ice is covering major portions of the roadway.
• Severe: Significant amount of snow or ice is covering the roadway, and roadway may be partially blocked or affected by drifting snow.
