UPDATE: TWO LANES OF NORTHBOUND I-95 OPEN IN CAROLINE
Left lane and center lane of northbound I-95 re-open following crash

FREDERICKSBURG—Two travel lanes of northbound Interstate 95 have re-opened at mile marker 103 in Caroline County following an early-morning vehicle crash involving a bus.

Motorists will be directed to use the left lane and center lane, while the right lane and right shoulder remain closed for debris removal.

All lanes of southbound I-95 remain open, and no congestion is reported for southbound travelers.

Northbound I-95 motorists may still experience travel delays as congestion clears. All northbound I-95 lanes had been closed since approximately 5 a.m. and directed to a detour on Route 1 at Exit 98/Route 30 and Doswell.

Cable guardrail on I-95 was damaged in the crash over a distance of one-tenth of a mile, and will be replaced.

Motorists can find real-time information about traffic incidents and congestion on VDOT’s 24-hour travel information website, www.511Virginia.org. 511Virginia is also available by calling 511 from any telephone in Virginia.
