PAVING WORK UNDERWAY ON U.S. 17 IN GLOUCESTER COUNTY
Motorists Should Expect Daytime Delays This Week and Next Week on Southbound U.S. 17 in the Gloucester Point Road Area

FREDERICKSBURG – Paving work will temporarily close one lane of southbound U.S. 17 in Gloucester County this week and next week in the Gloucester Point Road area, just north of the George P. Coleman Bridge.

One southbound lane of traffic will remain open during the paving work, which will occur on weekdays from 9 a.m. until early evening. Virginia State Police will assist with traffic control in the highway work zone. Motorists should anticipate delays while paving work is underway, and allow extra time to travel through the work zone.

Workers are milling and paving the roadway surface to improve the travel condition of U.S. 17. The work is being performed as part of the U.S. 17 Gloucester Point Improvement Project.

Motorists can view real-time road conditions and traffic cameras on VDOT’s 24-hour travel information website, www.511Virginia.org. 511Virginia is also available by calling 511 from any telephone in Virginia.
