Motorists traveling on Route 360 could encounter traffic delays on Friday, Tuesday

FREDERICKSBURG – Paving work to improve the traveling surface of the roadway east of the Downing Bridge on Route 360 has been scheduled for Friday, June 24 and Tuesday, June 28.

Work crews will mill the pavement on the east end of the Downing Bridge from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 24.

Crews will return to pave the roadway with a new asphalt surface from 5:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28.

A single lane will be closed on the two-lane bridge and approach roadway during the paving operation. Eastbound and westbound traffic will alternate driving in the open travel lane, directed by work crews carrying flags.

The Downing Bridge crosses the Rappahannock River and carries traffic between Tappahannock and Richmond County.

Paving work is taking place on June 24 and June 28 so work can be completed at this critical location before the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
