PAVING WORK PLANNED ON ROUTE 360 NEXT WEEK
Motorists may encounter delays at Downing Bridge and Tappahannock area

FREDERICKSBURG – A single travel lane will be closed on Route 360 next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the Downing Bridge in the Tappahannock area for paving operations.

A single travel lane on the Downing Bridge and bridge approaches will be closed from 9 a.m. to noon daily on Monday, Dec. 5 through Wednesday, Dec. 7. Traffic in both directions will alternate in a single open travel lane.

While all paving work is scheduled to be completed by Wednesday afternoon, this is subject to change in the event of inclement weather.

Motorists on northbound and southbound Route 360 may encounter travel delays in the vicinity of the Downing Bridge during the work zone hours.

This paving work is part of a larger rehabilitation project on the Downing Bridge that is expected to conclude in spring 2012. This project is currently ahead of schedule by several months, and the contractor is working to finish all tasks as expeditiously as possible.

Real-time listings of work zones and road conditions in Virginia are available on VDOT’s 24-hour traffic and travel information website, www.511Virginia.org.  Motorists can also access 511Virginia by calling 511 from any telephone in Virginia.
