EXPECT LANE CLOSURES ON I-95 SOUTH AT THE RAPPAHANNOCK RIVER BRIDGE
Bridge painting project moves forward; Motorists to see more construction activity
FREDERICKSBURG – The Virginia Department of Transportation’s (VDOT) I-95 bridge painting project is moving forward. Beginning at 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, one lane will be closed on I-95 south at the bridge over the Rappahannock River located at mile marker 132 near Fredericksburg. The single lane closure will remain in place until 1 a.m.
To date activity on the project, which began in early June, has been contained under the structure and has not been visible to motorists traveling across bridge. However, as the project moves forward motorists should expect periodic lane closures on the bridge which is located between Exit 133 (Rt. 17/Falmouth) and Exit 130 (Rt. 3/Fredericksburg). The project is expected to be complete in mid-December.
