Road will be temporarily closed to through traffic at Laroque Run in Spotsylvania County

FREDERICKSBURG – Route 620 (Spotswood Furnace Road) in Spotsylvania County will be closed to traffic at Laroque Run tomorrow to allow the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to repair a bridge.

Repair work is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14. The road will be closed to all traffic at the bridge during repair work.

Laroque Run is located between Route 616 (US Ford Road) and Route 618 (River Road).

VDOT is repairing a beam on the bridge. This work will allow the bridge to maintain a posted weight limit of 3 tons for all vehicles.

The repair is taking place on an unpaved, state-maintained section of Route 620. This section of Route 620 carries an average of 240 vehicles a day, according to a 2010 VDOT traffic count.
