FREDERICKSBURG– The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has closed a portion of Paige Road (Route 605) in Caroline County to through traffic to replace the bridge over the Mattaponi River.
Bryant Contracting Inc. will be replacing the existing bridge deck with a new structure under a regional design build contract. The total cost of the project is approximately $660,000.
VDOT has established a detour for through traffic using Route 638 to Route 626 to Route 609. Paige Road residents will be allowed access to their homes throughout the duration of the project. Signs are in place to guide through motorists around the work zone.
The work is expected to be complete by October.
