Chinns Mill Bridge Rehabilitation Project Slated To Begin Early October
(Richmond County)

FREDERICKSBURG— Preparations are under way for the start of the project to rehabilitate the Route 3 bridge over   Chinn’s Mill Pond in Richmond County.  The project is expected to begin in early October.

Byrant Contracting of Toana, VA will replace the existing bridge deck under a regional design build contract with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

Crews are currently moving utilities and activity is underway to construct the foundation for the temporary signal that will be used to control traffic at the bridge during construction.

Once the signals are activated motorists will be restricted to one lane on the bridge in each direction.

The project is expected to be complete in March 2011.
